Set in the urban jungle, Shane and Cherié 's wedding day was one that screamed of glamour! This young couple hailed from the suburbs of Cape Town and instead of heading to the winelands, opted for a celebration downtown in the most beautiful city in the world with a view of the spectacular Table Mountain.
They were married in an old church on the cobble-stone streets of Cape Town, their photographs taken in and around the bustling lanes of the CBD and they celebrated the occasion overlooking the city centre and its incredible charm. The studio venue offered a blank canvas which we painted with sequenced runners, crystal candelabras and beautifully sculptured floral centerpieces of O’hara roses and orchids, which added to the luxuriousness of the event. Rose gold on white with pops of glitter brought the reception hall to life in a look that was crisp and clean with a feminine touch. And as afternoon turned to evening and the sun set over the mountain backdrop, we lit candles which bathed this intimate affair in a rich, warm glow.
Shane and Cherié had a sweetheart table, the groom wore Superman cufflinks in honour of his nickname and the bride and her father danced to “Butterfly Kisses” - these were the little details that made this occasion truly special. And as a final moment of magic, while dancing to the last song of the evening, aptly named “Faded”, the roof opened up to reveal the summer night sky and soft drops of rain gently “kissed” the couple and their guests as if to bless them on their new journey together.
The choice in decor and modern twists made this event feel like a present-day take on an old-time fairytale.
May they live happily ever after…
