Francius and Shaun were so in love, there was no doubt about it. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing to get them to the aisle and only weeks before their big day, the guest farm they had initially chosen for their wedding burnt down, leaving them without a venue and frankly a little panicked. This was not something we had experienced before either, however we managed to pull together with service providers and the handsome couple to find a new site and ensure they had their beautiful wedding day as planned.
We helped Francius and Shaun create a look that was elegant yet relaxed and simple. They loved the colour blue and we carefully selected decor elements, stationery and a cake in various tones of blue that would harmoniously add pops of colour to contrast the white tables and white orchid florals. Soft lighting from chandeliers and floating candles brought the reception hall to life and created a romantic feel that was well balanced and intimate.
In life they say it’s the little things that mean the most and this wedding was not short of those special moments: Francius and Shaun wanted to enjoy every moment of their special day side by side and therefore got dressed and ready together; they chose to have their Mothers walk them to the top of the aisle and then walked each other, hand in hand, down the aisle to take up their position at the front; they had an all male wedding party that looked especially dapper; and they acknowledged a family member's birthday by lighting a candle and singing to her. Giant jenga, a giant polaroid frame and a photobooth were chosen to entertain guests during pre-drinks and at the reception.
It was also quite unique for our very own Carla to receive from them a “CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE: 101 WHEN YOUR VENUE BURNS DOWN” - another special touch by this wonderful couple.
Francius and Shaun brought together their closest family and friends to witness their union and celebrate their love and none of the challenges faced leading up to the day could have dampened that....Love always wins in the end!
