Lani found her prince charming in London when she met Charles. They then travelled together to her home in Riversdale to be married. It was a wonderful family affair…Lani’s aunt made her wedding dress and Charles’ belt was embossed with the Scholtz family name (Lani's maiden name) - a special symbol of the two families that united on that day.
They chose rich jewel tones and vibrant hues with touches of luxurious gold to colour their celebration. Pre-drinks were enjoyed under the forest canopy at the Kweekkraal guest house in Riversdale. Their guests were treated to floating canapés, a drinks bar and popcorn station, and all were serenaded by musicians and their acoustic guitars. We created rustic tables and outdoor seating and made sure there was something to keep the children happy during this time too, by providing games and toys.
Inside the reception hall, a warm, welcoming and enchanting atmosphere awaited the bridal couple and their closest family and friends. A combination of gold tiffany and ghost chairs created an interesting mix that lined up alongside tables. Flowers adorned the room from ceiling installations to the table florals; table decor showed off the wedding colours with magnificent flair and candlelight and fairy light curtains illuminated the space in a warm glow.
Their wedding cake was a savoury tower of rich and creamy cheeses, a celebration of the homegrown delicacies of South Africa. Furthermore, the food was delicious and was certainly a feast fit for a prince and his new princess bride.
