Anneke and Hugh were married on a sunny and warm winter’s day. The couple are from up country but decided that a wedding in the Cape would suit them best and so invited their family and friends from across South Africa for a weekend of celebration at the stunning Elandskloof in Greyton in the Western Cape. The young bride was elegant in a full length gown with her hair in loose locks, while the groom and groomsmen donned bowties for an extremely dapper look. The wedding was a beautiful blend of tradition and modern-day charm; it was endearing and rustic all in one.
The ceremony was held under the trees at the exquisite venue, a picture perfect setting to receive the bride and groom and their special guests. Fallen leaves carpeted the forest floor and hues of warm brown, orange and deep red splattered the landscape to showcase just how extraordinary a winter wedding in South Africa can be.
Unique additions from the couple included the bride’s sweet stationary design, telling a short story of the couple’s road to the alter and adding a playful element to the decor; Hugh had a fun surprise for his groomsmen in the form personalised “Groomsmen Bru” beers.
Inside the reception hall the theme of wood, rich tone colours and natural textures was carried through by means of the table decor and floral designs to create a warm and intimate atmosphere. Later as the sun went down and the winter chill set in, a feast awaited the group, gluwein was poured and dancing was the order of the night.
This wedding was about faith, about family and about sharing a weekend in celebration of love. We’re so grateful to have been a part of this event and to have met Anneke and Hugh and their wonderful family.
